Ministry, Mission and Leadership: Challenges and Opportunities for Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches

WELCOME
The European Pentecostal Theological Association (EPTA) conferences combine academic papers and discussion with times of worship, fellowship and prayer for those who wish. The formal programme leaves room for personal interaction between delegates. Provision is also made for online delegates to engage with as many conference activities as possible.
All members of EPTA are encouraged to attend. As ever, others interested in the work of EPTA are warmly welcome, especially research students. Pastors and others involved in church life on a day-to-day basis will find much of interest in the conference. (Please note that the conference will be conducted in the English language, and no simultaneous translation will be provided.)
In-person conference places are only available for those who have permission or a visa to enter the UK. Apologies to all others as EPTA cannot facilitate visa entries. Visas are obviously not needed for those attending the conference online.
THEME
The theme of the conference is “Ministry, Mission and Leadership: Challenges and Opportunities for Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches.” The various plenary and parallel sessions examine the theology and practice of Pentecostal ministries, missional approaches, ecclesiologies, leadership paradigms and governance structures.
PROGRAMME
The conference is scheduled to have 27 academic papers and 2 roundtable discussions. This year’s keynote speakers are Prof. William Kay, Dr L. William (Bill) Oliverio Jr, Dr Claire Williams, and Dr Jean Daniel Plüss.
The conference will start on Monday 30 June at 4:00 pm (BST) and finish on Wednesday 2 July at 9:00 pm.

VENUE
The EPTA Conference 2025 venue is Regents Theological College, West Malvern Road, West Malvern, WR14 4DF, UK.
All sessions will also be live-streamed for those who are not able to attend the conference in-person. Some presentations are also delivered online. The sessions are not recorded.
REGISTRATION, ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS

All delegates and presenters (online and in-person) need to register through the Eventbrite link. In addition, all in-person delegates/presenters are encouraged to book accommodation and meals at the college’s Elim Conference Centre. Please book before 8 June 2025. After completing the Google Form, you will receive an invoice from the Elim Conference Centre.
By giving your name and institution on the online registration form, you thereby permit these details to be shared with other conference delegates. Other personal details, such as your email address, will not be shared with them.
COSTS
Registration fee. All delegates, both in-person and online, pay this. It is set by EPTA and covers general EPTA costs such as running the conference. This charge is non-refundable. This needs to be paid when registering via Eventbrite.
- General admission (online and in-person): £45
- EPTA members admission (online and in-person): £20
- Student and retired admission (online and in-person): £17
Accommodation and meals
- Single Budget room (all-inclusive for 3 nights): £260 per person
- Conference room (all-inclusive 3 nights): £290 per person
- Shared conference room (all-inclusive for 3 nights): £200 per person
All rooms are en suite. The conference rooms are slightly bigger and more comfortable than the budget rooms. Most conference rooms also have a TV).
The 3 nights cover the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights of the conference week. For additional nights, please contact the Elim Conference Centre. The conference centre also offers some family rooms. Please contact the conference centre directly if you require a family room.
Meals only
- Meals excluding breakfast: £110 (3 dinners [Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday] + 2 lunches [Tuesday and Wednesday] + coffees/teas and snacks).
- Meals including breakfast: £126 (3 dinners [Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday] + 3 breakfasts [Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday] + 2 lunches [Tuesday and Wednesday] + coffees/teas and snacks).
BOOKSTALL
As usual, an informal bookstall will run throughout the conference. Any delegate wishing to bring items for sale is invited to do so. The stall will be unstaffed, operating on a trust basis.
TRAVEL
The closest train stations to Regents Theological College are Malvern Link and Great Malvern. The closest international airport is Birmingham Airport (BHX), although it can be cheaper to fly to one of the London airports (e.g. Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Luton) and then catch the train from London to Malvern Link/Great Malvern. It is also possible to take the Euro Star train from mainland Europe to London, followed by a train from London to Malvern Link/Great Malvern.
